My hubs just participated in the Merrell Mud Run. I've never actually been to a real race before, so it was pretty exciting to witness how intense these things can get. I loved seeing the team outfits, the serious stretching, the enthusiasm at the beginning of the race and the relief on their faces at the end. I'm so proud of E. He was number 34 out of the 100 in his wave and was one of the top 20% to finish out of over a thousand.
Of course the verse when Paul talks about running the race, comes to my mind. Running a race isn't easy. It takes discipline. E told me there were definitely spurts of energy and moments where he felt just like stopping. Despite that, he never once started walking and pushed through until the end. What a great sermon analogy :)
Btw...I was too lazy to edit the photos so these are straight out of camera, minus a few straightening and cropping here and there.
